Re: CD changer replacement 850 1995

I had the same problem with my glovebox cover preventing me from taking it out. You have to use a really small flathead screwdriver to release the clip (which is in the cover itself, you should see that there is a small extra space on the side of each plastic arm that you could stick a small screwdriver into) that holds each of the two arms in place, force usally works to. About the CD changer, I picked up the Glovebox changer from my local Volvo dealer (Borton Volvo in Minneapolis,MN) for about $240, with the glovebox mounting kit. Installation was pretty easy, comes with all wires (sound, power, etc) and there is no running wires anywhere. Power is tapped off of the head unit (via a passthru cable) and the sound cable is easy as it is only run about 1-2 feet. It has worked perfectly with my SC-811. The changer is silver, 6-disc, and has volvo emblems on it, but it is an Alpine unit as it had Alpine stickers on it too. Takes up most of the glovebox, but the convenience is worth it.
Hope this helps
