'Check Engine' Light S70

I just found this forum and it's my first post.

I bought a '98 S70 two days ago. I haven't picked it up yet because the owner said the "Check Engine" light came on and she is going to have it looked at by her dealer prior to my picking up the car. Question: What are the problems that are signaled by the light? Should I be concerned about buying the car?
