Do the IPD Motronic upgrades cause reliability/longevity issues?

I've been lusting after the Motronic upgrades from IPD since they came out, and now that my wife has decided that she wants the car when the lease is up, I'd like to go ahead and buy one as my curiosity is piqued. My concern is that the increased horsepower, higher output, and more torque will wear the engine much faster, and therefore not only decrease its reliabilty, but decrease its lifespan. We put 20K miles per year on each of our cars (Southern CA, baby!) and granted, most of that is freeway miles, so our use of the increased horsepower and torque is limited to stop signs and on ramps just like everybody else, but does anyone have information on the items I'm concerned about here?
