Coolant flush: any more useful tidbits of info? 850 1996

About to undertake my first coolant flush, using the Bay 13 instructions. Based on experience, does anyone out there (especially amatuers like me) have any additional info not mentioned on Bay 13 that will help me accomplish this job most/more effectively and easily? I'm a little concerned that I'm going to destroy the petcock valves- do I just use a 13mm socket wrench on those? Don't laugh, my when my mom was pregnant with me she was frightened by some needle nose pliers, and now I get the shakes walking into the Sears hardware section.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
