Key stuck in the ignition V70-XC70 1999

This happened to me too. However, the fix, which was posted by a member of this board, was easy. There is a small button towards the upper right area near the shifter. That button was pushed in a little bit by my wife's purse, just enough to prevent the shifter from completely going into park, and just enought to keep me from removing the key. All I had to do was grab the button with a pair of pliers, and gently pull it out a little bit and the key was released. The button is only on cars equipped with automatic transmissions. Hope dealer didn't charge you to replace the ignition switch!
