Yannis, I agree it's the perfect lineup; but Volvo is a relatively small company for such a broad offering. Therein lie the odd quality issues that plague the brand (including a relatively high number of lemons for cars in this price range). Their engineering is pulled in too many directions. They've introduced a lot of product and a lot of new designs in short order. I applaud their ambition. But I miss their focus on doing a few things well.

Here's an example. Remember Apple Computer's death wish? In the face of the Microsoft open systems juggernaut, they almost put themselves out of business by trying to build a different mac for everyone. There must have been a eighteen models (and a gazillion OS tweaks to make them all run) put out by a small company once known for excellence. They've since returned to making a few things exceeding well, but the any market share they lost in the meantime may never be regained.
