Reactions after a long christmas trip. 850 1996

I live in Norway, and my wife is from Poland. Because of this we travel to Poland twice a year. The trip is taking between 12 and 17 hours, depending on summer/winter/traffic etc.
Since Poland is a very cheap place to Norwegians, and my wife enjoys a lot of products there that she cannot buy in Norway, the car is always LOADED on the way back.
This time, I was really happy with my new foglights. They helped me through a lot of blizzard on the way to Poland, and a lot of fog on the way back. I will advice everybody who frequently travel long distances to have such.

Also I am really considering doing something to my rear suspension. The car sits to deep when loaded. It is not nice to have a very low ass when you want to get home asap through varied driving conditions.(And on- and over-board a local ferry in Poland that catches trailer hooks that are to low.
My ambitions in this matter is to not reduce everyday driving-performance, and increase the same when loaded. Is it to cheap/ low performance to just buy stiffer springs, or should I go for the nivomat? Any other suggestions?

And I can see that when we get kids, we will need to buy a roof cargobox. Will such a box limit my max speed? I dont mean becauce of added drag, but because of the structural strength/ stiffness of the box.

All in all I enjoy the comfort of this car alot when driving long distances at highest "sensibly possible" speed.

Erlend
