Fixign cupholder in rear center console V70-XC70 2001

Hi
Somehow the rear cupholder came out of the rear center console yesterday. It doesn't go back easily, and there is a black hollow cylinder that is now in my hands instead of where it is supposed to be. I can take to the dealer, but hate to either waste an hour or wait 7500 miles (as luck would have it, just changed the oil last week). Does anyone have a simple direction on how to get this rear cupholder back in and where that black hollow cylinder goes?

thanks and nice to post on something only very mildly annoying, all the big stuff on my T5GT seems okay, knock on plastic.
