Repainting my wagon 850 1997

Think about doing something different. Your wagon might look pretty good with a silver roof, how about another shade of blue?

You could paint the hood and the area between the lines on the roof a color that you like. Add a side stripe, or a bumble bee stripe in the rear and...

Take a couple of photos and scan them into a computer and experiment.

I have an 85 wagon with beige bumper covers and side trim, I do not really know how most other Volvo owners view this, but they DO look. I took an image from the Tire Rack and tried different colors. I'm debating whether or not to paint the R model spoiler that I added as well. By the way, you cannot really paint the trim as the paint does not stick as well as it sticks to metal, but I intend to wet sand it every spring and recoat it.

You are going to have the car for a while, its nice to make it look original, but it could get scratched again in two months!
