bevel gear phobia V70-XC70 1999

I have a 99 XC with 49,300 miles and I am worrying about the warrenty expiring.
I got the car as a service loaner with 13K on it and it has been great.
It makes this groaning noise when I am turning tightly. The dealer "lubed the steering points", but it didn't make any difference. Is this a normal sound for this car? When a bevel gear is about to fail, what are the symptoms?

This is my third Volvo with my '82 and '89 240's each going over 275,000.

Thank You all!
