Subframe mountings V70-XC70 1998

The subframe was replaced because it had been pushed in toward the oil pan when the previous owner ran into one of those concrete parking barriers. The dealer chose to fix it when it came in off of lease before selling it. It was apparently still fine when it was replaced, but the dealer decided it would be easier to sell by fixing it. I was very hesitant when I found out, but spending an hour with a volvo tech under the car showing me what was done and how put me at ease. The way the car is designed, the entire subframe is designed to be replaced if bent. Once replaced (as long as the new one is to spec) there should be no issues with alignment, etc. (assuming nothing else is bent). It just bolts on to the frame of the car and all the control arms etc. bolt on to the subframe.

We have had the car 1 year and it is holding up very well. No alignment problems at all.
