I love Volvo enthusiasts! I have had my Volvo for less than 6 months now and right off the bat I noticed the brakes defintly needed improvement. Ill argue with anybody on this matter, the factory brakes are not that good! Plain & simple. I bought a set of Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors which came with Mintex (red box pads) the Mintex pads are about 2 steps up from the factory ones but Mintex makes a pad called (c-tech pads)which are the best pads for the 850/S70 Volvos. Yes the best, are there good aftermarket pads other than these?=yes but the Mintex c-pads are the best. Want to argue? Im a cop with a desk job, T3 connection and spend about 5 hours a day on the net and get paid to do it! reviewing Volvo mods,info and testing. So I know a bit more than the average joe. Check www.newandusedvolvoparts.com and look at this brake combo. Its priced very fair and will definitly solve your brake woes. I called IPD and bought f/r S/S brake lines and switched to synthetic dot4 brake fluid. A must is the rear brake pad shims & anti sqeal paste from IPD without them the brakes squeal to high heaven. All of these items were in stalled by my local midas dealer very inexpensive. When you want more power look up www.easternaerospace.com the are the volvo power brokers They race,test and use what they sell. They can add 5-205hp to your Volvo. Very nice,professional and honest group of Volvo lovers, get to know these guys well. As I have said before,I think for the bang4buck I feel you cant go wrong with a highperformance torque convertor. This item alone will remove .5-.7sec from your 0-60 7 1/4 mi times. I could go on and on about Volvo Mods. I hate slow & poor handling Volvos, they should be illegal. Have fun with you Volvo!
