Good place to get a Catalytic Converter? 850 1996

For my '96 854 Turbo. It's got 74k miles and it looks like it might just need a new cat. I'll take it to my mechanic to make sure, after he reads codes and such, but wanted to be prepared in case. I found a few sites that wanted $500 for cats for this car. Can that be right? I'd even go for a free-flowing cat if it were available.
