strut braces S40-V40

Does the strut braces realy enhance performance and does it relief stress on the front strut towers. "The strut brace connects both towers reducing movement and flex under high cornering loads"... is this true and can one feel the diffence?? Is there anyone that have got a strut brace on his/her volvo s40 and what is your opinion about it??
