850 general reliability, dependability 850

We've owned 4 used 740s and now 2 used 850s. The 8s are smoother and seem much more refined. Their performance seems to be between the NA 740 and the Turbo.

I cannot really reply on reliability. I've had one incident of non-starting when I moved the car four times one cold afternoon when I was painting the rear bumper cover. This also happened to our 740 turbo about 4 years ago. I now never move one of my Volvos without wartming them up.

I think that the 850s are probably like the 740s - find one that has been well maintained.
