I disagree. A Ford Excursion is more likely to go into a uncontrolled skid in a panic braking situation, or roll over in a corner. And if you run off the road and collide with a concrete barrier, you are safer in say a Honda Civic than you are in a Ford Excursion (check the crash tests). The problem is when the Excursion goes out of control and hits the Civic.
