850 general reliability, dependability S70 1999

We bought a 1999 S70 non-turbo new in 1999. We just passed 50,000 miles and left the warrantee period, and I'm not really worried about it. So far it's been the best car we've ever owned. (not saying much, the only other new car we ever bought was an Oldsmobile. Yuck.)

Our problems failures to date:

Front Passenger window switch.
Headlight and blinker bulbs burn out.

That's it. The switch was replaced under warrantee. The light sockets were replaced under a recall.

I echo the sentiment that you have to let the car warm up before shutting it off. I've forgotten a couple of times, moved the car in the driveway, and had to crank it a lot to get it started.

We wore out the OEM tires at about 40k. The brakes are still good -- probably need replaced at 60k. No rattles, no squeaks, and the interior stands up to our 20-month-old.
