Flametrap 850 1996

Hello boys,
I´ve heard that volvo recomends to remove the flametrap to reduce oilpressure in the crankcase to save the sealings of the crankshaftaxis. My 850 -96 with
70000km on has just began to leak a little from the axis. Has somebody else
heard about this?
