850's complexity 850 1996

It really depends on what you are looking for. If you're looking for transportation, buy the Honda. If you're looking for transportation, safety, something that looks different than every other car on the road, and a lot of fun, get an 850 (preferably the T-5). As to maintenance, the Volvo will definitely be more expensive to maintain, but not dramatically so. The key is to stick to the maintenance schedule, whether you do it yourself or not.

Your mechanic is another matter. Obviously I don't know the guy, but he sounds like a good Honda mechanic. Find a local Volvo mechanic (I use a Volvo-certified independent guy, much cheaper than the dealer) and ask him about reliability, maintenance costs etc. I would also have him do a pre-purchase inspection if you decide to become a "Brick Head."

Good luck.

(Subliminal message... buy the Volvo... buy the Volvo... buy the Volvo...)
