SC-811 Radio Upgrade 850 1994

I just purchased a '94 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon and the stock radio (SC-810) has a problem with the balance cutting in and out when I turn the volume knob. After a quick assement of my radio choices, I've decided that repairing or replacing with a factory unit is much better than a big plastic "fit kit" with an aftermarket unit. I've been watching ebay for SC-810's and SC-811's and have the following questions:

1) What is "Premium" about the SC-811 radio, what makes it better than an 810?
2) Where is a good source for these used radios. I've seen them on ebay, but only once in a while. I'm sure there are auto wreckers around the nation with big stockpiles of these, can anyone recommend one?
