manual gearbox C70

I have a 1998 C70 with a manual gearbox and when shifting from 2nd to 3rd I feel a notchiness, almost a crunch. It's worse when the car is cold. If I shift slower (i.e. pause btwn 2nd & 3rd) it's ok. Anyone else experience this? I've been to 2 dealers and they say its normal or they don't feel the problem. I haven't been able to drive another manual 70 series to compare. Do I have a syncro problem? or a clutch problem? or no problem?
