Don’t forget about the Fischer Price Safe Embrace. Consumer reports actually rated it higher than the Britax if memory serves. Problem is, Fischer Price no longer makes car seats….but, you can get the seat on e-bay for about $120 new. Lots of people stocked up on the seat when CR rated baby seats, and are now auctioning them off. We just bought one last week to complement the one we bought last year. Same basic construction as the Britax (styrofoam bolsters, five point harness, latch,isofix, etc.
