Excellent write-up Mrsha. Here are a couple details I might add:

>940 is a 4 cylinder car with around 120 horse power I think...
Quite right. Through 1994, also available with a turbo, which gets it to about 170hp.

>960 is 6 cylinder car with not much more power than the 940 .. volvo 6 cylinder car always have been known as a lemone car with many problem....
Late model 960's have a different engine than the older, trouble prone French engine. Newer 960's have the same inline 6 cyl as the S80 (differently configured of course). Begining 1994 or 1995, more reliable, 189hp.
