Volume on stereo increase by itself S70 1998

I have a 98 S70 GLT and the in dash cd stereo has an ASC light (Automatic Sound Control as explained in the manual) on the stereo display when activated. This increases the volume as you increase speed (I have noticed at 30mph and 45mph). It is a small increase in volume and really only noticible when the volume is fairly low. To unactivate/activiate, hold the "cd" button until it goes off/comes on.
