Power Steering Shudder S70 1998

There were about six different power steering fluid brands at Pep Boys, but not one had a grade listed. They had Manufacturer spec numbers (GM, Ford, Chrysler) and there were brands specific to Honda/Acura. Those containing sealers and conditioners made up another group and Valvoline has a Synthetic type. Would "Type F" correspond to the "F" in ATF. ATF is the grade shown in the manual.

It would seem to me that a low fluid level would indicate a "loss" of fluid via leaks, but I don't understand the reason behind having an "add" line on the dip stick. Nevertheless, I'm going to check for leaks next.

I'm still a little PO'd about the situation either way. There should not be a problem with power steering after only 43K.

Thanks again for the continued input.
