Possibly a really ignorant question.. be nice :) 850 1995

Your wife's Volvo is an 850 Turbo, which is a high pressure Turbo, and more powerfull. You will love the acceleration. I can't remember but I think its 222 or 233HP. I think the 'R'comes with more HP like 250HP or so. The ECU can be upgraded to 256 or so on the Turbo, I think. But mine has had plenty of power for me. It passes better than any car I've owned. The major potential problems involve the A/C evaporator which costs around $1000 to $1200 to replace. And the automatic transmission. Mine needs an evaporator now at 95000 miles and has needed it for a few thousand miles now,(I live in Florida). Transmission is okay so far. Most of the other regular bugs in the car should have been taken care of under warranty a while ago. You didn't say how many miles the car has on it.
