Brake Squealing 850 1994

I've seen other posts about using only OEM brake pads to avoid squealing. I replaced mine (front and rear) with after market pads about 6 months ago and did all the things I'm supposed to do (anti-sqeal compound, etc.) and of course after a few thousand miles, the sqealing starts. I have no problem with replacing these with OEM pads right away (even though the current set are barely worn) but I would be interested in knowing what makes OEM pads so different that they will be quieter. Any feedback on this will be greatll appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim
