Disabling daytime running lights in Canada V70-XC70 1998

Wow ... I've been wanting to do this for a while. I do have a question though. Do you have fog lights? Are the fog lights wired such that you must turn on the headlights before the fogs can be on? I've been wanting to turn off the DRL's and manually turn on the fogs as my DRL's thereby getting a unique look for a Volvo (actually it is the look of the Audi A4's that I've been wanting to emulate).
