Top speed on US spec. 97 850 T5 or R 850 1997

Other than goin to the desert flats and doing a few runs, anyone know the answer to my question? I believe I read somewhere it was 142 or 145mph!! Now, i believe some have said that it was limited to 130. Also, is it possible to have a a top speed rating that's higher than your speedo lists(of course i talking b/4 ECU upgrade)?

PS-is there any place along the East coast like the famous Nurinburgring(spell??)in Germany??? I'd love to really drive my car to it limits(that's until I chicken out at about 120mph). Oh well, back to reality!
