Dave,
I have the same unit in my '94 and have also wanted to upgrade. Really all I wanted was CD capability. After considering changing the unit for a later model, searching e-bay and considering the costs when there is nothing wrong with the unit I have, I made the decision to buy an Alpine CD changer. The cost is considerably less, my OEM stay put and matches the rest of the console (something to think about, the others won't match in color) and the 810 is designed to handle a changer anyway.
