Front Calipers C70 1999

I appreciate the techincal advice. I don't know that much about braking systems, but let me ask then how helpful is a larger disc unless you upgrade to a 4/6/8 piston caliper? In other words, rather than fitting larger discs to cars, wouldn't the secret be switching to a hiher number of piston caliper? Although this implies as many manufacturers switch rotor size without changing calipers) that I should be able to just reseat the caliper and have larger (and hopefully more powerful) rotors. Thanks again for all the help, and sorry if I'm being a bit of an idiot about it. I'll try to look things up online as well for general brake knowledge.
