Thanks for the introduction to the world of Maxima!

To answer the debate (and you could drop in like a really smart guy) on why no API on the mid and top of the line Amsoil Motor Oils:

a) Wrong answer: They couldn't pass the tests!! (That had me ROTFLMAO - Those "tests" are totally rediculously easy for synthetic oil.....even though some really bad petroluem oils pass and yes some petroleum oils do fail, I guess plus the latest test are finally getting a backbone so some petroleum oils may need to scramble.....)

b) Right answer: Simple, Amsoil does not want their formulation registered and controlled by the API. Yes, it's expensive and very time consuming, but they want to retain the right to improve without "asking" the API.
