Oil pressure 850 1995

I just "cured" my noisy lifter by using an engine flush and going to 5W30. If that hadn't worked the next step was to go after deteriorating O-rings in the oil pan. I curious now, if the O-ring on the oil pump pickup tube was allowing air to be pulled in as well as oil from the sump, would oil pressure be affected?

Where is the oil pressure sensor and can a pressure gauge be screwed in in it's place for a pressure check? What is normal oil pressure on the 5 cylinder? If the sensor was removed to check pressure would a fault code be generated?

Thanks,
