Newbie Question re: Would you buy another S60? S60

Looking for some insight. My wife and I are thinking about the S60, either new or slightly used. Have never owned a Volvo before but have friends who love and hate them. Had a 74 Saab 99L once but burned through Slave Cylinders like they were water. Don't know much about S60 model other than what I read in the magazines. Live near Chicago. What's the consensus on owning one? Looking for good and bad comments. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
