broken pieces of white gearing teeth in antenna motor 850

Has anyone ever opened up the antenna motor to remove broken pieces
of the old antenna gearing? I just replaced the power antenna mast
per "Bay 13" and all was well until I tried to retract it. There is
about one inch of antenna left sticking up above the car body. I am
assuming there is some broken plastic gearing still inside the motor.
