Slow warm up; not much heat 850 1996

I just had my thermostat changed for the same reason, now the temperature rises quickly to mid-scale like all my other Volvos.

You should consider changing the antifreeze at the same time. From what I've read from several sources, the antifreeze in an 850 should last indefinately because all the metal it comes in contact with is aluminum. However a couple of sources advised to change the antifreze when other cooling system work is being done.

Everything I've read points to using Volvo's antifreeze, most people think that it is worth the price.
