$500 rear brake job is a joke. Two new oem rotors and a set of pads can be found for less than $150. Why not try to do it yourself? The hardest part of working on these cars is getting the courage to break out the wrenches. Check out www.volvospeed.com maintenance section for step-by-step pictures on how to do it. Then try voluparts or volvoparts to get your parts.
