Volvo CD Changer 'Auto Eject' 'Feature' 850 1995

I have a Volvo 6-disc CD changer mounted in the trunk of my 854. What had been an infrequent annoyance has now become a chronic problem that has made the changer effectively useless. In a nutshell, whenever the temperature in the trunk gets warm the cartridge unit simply pops out. If the changer door is closed I need to carefully open it while gently pushing on the cartridge. If I had been playing a CD it is left in the unit and I can only get it out by removing the remaining CDs from the cartridge and hoping that the CD ejects. FYI, the radio shows a code of 'E-03'.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If not, I am considering replacing this unit and was wondering if I had much flexibility in a replacement unit. Is there, for example a special connector that I need for the SC-816 radio? It looks like all I would need to do is swap one unit for another, making the installation little more than connecting a few wires and mounting screws.
