Won't Start.. 850 1994

In response to other postings where owners have been unable to start their 850 after backing out of the garage, I offer this story:

I started my 850 and backed it out of the garage on a cold February Minnesota morning and then worked in the garage all day. That evening it would not start when I wanted to put it back in the garage. It would crank and sputter, but not start. Even keeping the gas pedal to the floor would not do the trick. We used our other car to push it in the garage and then charged the battery overnight.
The next morning, the same thing, crank and sputter, but no start.
I then read some of the reply's in this forum about changing the spark plugs and the oil and decided to give it a try (thanks to those of you who posted the plug/oil solution). I pulled the plugs and they where quite fouled and worn (I had bought the car used and this was the first time I looked at the spark plugs). I replaced them with new ones and the 850 started right up! Next I checked the oil and it had a gasoline odor to it. So I went to my local garage for an oil change and the mechanic also noted the gas smell. Total cost: $25 for Bosch Platinums and $25 for the oil change.
While I believe the 850 does flood if you start and then shut it down right away, worn plugs might not have enough "spark" to overcome the high fuel to air ratio.
