V70 and a Rhode Gear Cycle Shuttle V70-XC70 2001

In 1997, I purchased a Rhode Gear cycle shuttle, which has loyally transported bicycles on my old car for five years.

Recently, I purchased a 2001 V70. Big perk is I can carry a single bike in the back without dismatling it (though I do have to lay the seats down). Great when I'm taking a bike in for repairs, or want to go for a ride alone, however, a second bike (for, say, my wife), will probably still require the rack.

Obviously, there are no settings in the manual for a 2001 automobile. The two Volvo wagons that come closest are the '94 850, and the 91-94 940/960. The settings are like "E2, Outer/Lower portion rests on the upper portion of the liscence plate..." with a few notes (including, for the '94 850 "We do not recommend using any rear rack...").

Anyone know what might be the propper settings?

thanks,
Charles
