5 Speed 850's - How are they??? 850 1997

I recently bought a '93 850 GLT 5 speed. I haven't timed it 0-60, but it definitely does not feel slow. As pablos said, you do have to rev it. It is a little soft at low RPM's. I'll shift around 6K in first and second if I'm in a hurry. I'll drop it to third for passing, and find that it performs very well then. If you have an S70, you know that the motor is very smooth and revs easily. I find it to be a very enjoyable car to drive, but it she wants something that has lots of low RPM torque, look elsewhere. Shifting is very smooth, and clutch action is nice. Yes, I believe that only the NA engine was offered with a 5 speed. Your greatest difficulty might be finding one. The 5 speeds seem to be very rare.
