Sunroof Possessed, Operates by itself 850 1996

Thanks for sticking with me. The box that keeps clicking is 2 inches to the right of the motor for the sunroof (above the rear view mirror plate). The motor wires connect to it. The clicking pattern is exactly the pattern that the sunroof was following. I don't know if it's a relay or some type of controller, but it seems like the problem may be in that thing. One screw holds it on and getting the motor connector off of it was a breeze. However, there are wires connected to the back of this thing that are very difficult to access. I'm willing to try but I wanted to know what it was and if this type of problem could be caused by it malfunctioning.

I dropped by my Volvo mechanics place and after I explained what was happening, he said, "Whoa, that's a good one." He let me page through the manual but I'm not that good with schematics and he was busy with someone else.

I've been trying to find a site on line where I could enter the part number and determine what exactly it is that I'm dealing with but have had little luck.

The motor seems to work really well. It does exactly what it's told. I need to know what is telling it to do that.

It's a real head scratcher.
Thanks David.
Ted
