unusual whining sound 850 1993

Hi all,

I have a 1993 with 150K on it and after dropping a small fortune on fixing most problems this past week, two are still buggin' me, so I hope some of you might have some insights.

1) Replaced all struts/shocks/shock tower mounts & bushings, but still have a 'clink'ing sound when I go over bumps. I also still have some play in the steering wheel and a knocking sensation when low speed turning over bad pavement, but I suspect the rack is about due for replacement (great) :(
Anyone have a clue what the clinking noise is and and idea how many hrs it takes to replace the rack?

2) From a start, at about 15-20 MPH a really annoying whining noise starts from what sounds to be the pass. side front of the engine. The noise remains constant at all speeds until I slow down to around 5MPH, at which point the whine actually gets higher in pitch (speeding up?) until it goes away as I continue to slow down to a stop. At first the car only made this noise when it was cold and in the first 100 feet of driving, but now it does it almost all the time, even when it's 80 degrees out. I replaced the acc. tensioner pulley and had the axles lubed but no dice.

Thanks for any help you can give; I'm just about out of $$$ I'm willing to spend on this beeatch so I hope these fixes are cheap :)

Warren.
