Welding the 850 door hinge 850

If you didn't know it by now, the 850 has a design problem with the middle drivers door hinge, where if the bolts become loose the sheetmetal will actually crack/rip around the hinge. This has happened to my car.

I know it needs to be welded (though I'm tempted to try some epoxy as a quick and dirty) but does the entire door need to come off for this repair?
If so, do the wires disconnect at the door, or do I need to remove the inner door panel and fish out all the wires?

Thanks.
