We've recently purchased a 2002 S60 AWD and have experienced the same problem. I live in Canada and some nights the temperature does go down quite a bit. I took it in to service and was told that the computer showed everything was OK. I was told to leave my key in the ignition for a second before trying to start the car to allow the computer chip in the key to register with the car. I thought that was a bunch of crock. I have since tried what they said but still experienced the same problem occassionally. Can't wait till they come up with the software fix.
