Flakey Fob V70-XC70 2001

Hi!

More on the saga of my new (to me) 2001 V70. When I got it, one fob was used by the dealer; the other had a dead battery. I replaced the battery in the other one, and placed it in the kitchen drawer. The other I used.

It always seemed a bit oversensative to me. I might walk to the curb with my keys in my pocket to take out the trash, and the locks would go. Gradually, it became worse. Tonight, the buttons were unpredictable--not matching what I might push. I pull out the other fob, and it acts normally.

Do I have a broken fob, or is it just confused, as though I have a dieing battery? Should I carry a fob in my pocket? If not, what good is it?

thanks,
Charles
