98 V70 Owners, I need Help! V70-XC70

Ok I finally found '98 V70 for a very good price and I am ready to go except for one thing... I have read (and even the sales guy from my local Volvo dealer told me) that of all the years Volvo made the 850's and the V70's that 1998 was the worst year...mainly loads of electrical problems. So is it really true? Are they really the worst. The sales guy said that many improvments were made in 1999.
