Seat Belt Design and Safety S80

I own a 2001 S80 T6,love the car, and believe it is a safe car.

Yet, the seat belt, after having been replaced a few weeks earlier, pulled out of its right front front floor anchor while the car was stopped and turned off. The passenger, who weights about 110 pounds, reached for something in the back seat when that happened.

Is anyone aware that there is no hole in the steel piece that is attached to the fabric belt? There is no bolt in the front floor anchor that attaches to this steel piece, either. Instead, a spring clip holds the belt onto the floor anchor.

I sent a letter to Dan Werbin, the President. However, from my conversation with Volvo today, I believe they are not addressing these issues from an engineering perspective, but a consumer - retailer point of view.

Does anyone have any email contacts with the engineers in Sweden, so that I can forward the details to them?

Thanks.
