To change, or not to change...(coolant on a S80, that is) S80

I noticed in the maintenance section of my 2001 S80 owners manual that there is no entry for periodically changing the coolant. Sure enough, elsewhere in the manual it even says, "Normally, the coolant does not need to be changed."

Most cars I've ever owned recommended a flush and fill every 30K miles. Is Volvo using some super-duper coolant these days that you don't have to change? (the manual also says to use "only Genuine Volvo Coolant" but not sure if this is really necessary)
