is my turbo going out ?

I have a 1997 850 GLT and change the oil (mobil 1 synthetic 10W-30 & pureone oil filter)in my car every 5000 miles. I have just notice that the car is starting to use oil. About 1 qt every 5000 miles.
I took my car to a shop today and he said that he found a small leak around a rubber tube that connects to the turbo. Sorry I don't know which tube but he said that the leak wasn't big enough to leak out a quart every 5000 miles.
He thinks that the seals are going out on the turbo and the oil is burning though the turbo.
The good news is that I have a extended warranty on the car!!
What if my ext. warranty covers having the turbo replaced should I upgrade it ? What turbo do I replace it with ? Will it make a differance on a GLT ?

What do you guys think ?
